Following a spell living overseas she completed the Graduate Diploma in Law at Kingston University Business School, followed by the Legal Practice Course at the former College of Law in Guildford qualifying as a solicitor in 2008.

Julie went on to specialise in Private Client work and has worked for many years in private practice in Kingston, and also more recently as an in-house Private Client lawyer within a Surrey based wealth management company. Julie joined the team at Carter Bells in 2022 as Head of Department.

Julie is experienced in advising on Wills to meet clients’ wishes whilst being as tax efficient as possible. Alongside Wills Julie is experienced in preparing Powers of Attorney to protect against potential future loss of mental capacity and also can act on applications to the Court of Protection to appoint a Deputy in the absence of an attorney.

Post-death tax planning is another area Julie advises on including Deeds of Variation to re-arrange succession of assets by a beneficiary. Lifetime Trusts and Will Trusts are popular vehicles to achieve capital protection and Julie advises her clients on these regularly.
